KKN Gurugram Desk | On April 14, 2025, the installation of the sacred ‘Kalash’ atop the main shikhar (spire) of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya marked a pivotal moment in the temple’s construction. This event, conducted with full Vedic rituals, signifies the nearing completion of the temple, which is anticipated within the next six months.

Ceremonial Installation of the Kalash
The ‘Kalash Puja’ commenced at 9:15 AM and concluded at 10:30 AM on April 14, 2025. Brahmins performed the rituals atop the sanctum sanctorum’s main shikhar. This ceremony coincided with the auspicious occasion of Vaisakhi and the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, adding to its significance .
Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, highlighted this milestone and announced that the next phase involves installing the ‘Dhwajdand’ (flagpole) on the temple’s main shikhar. He also mentioned that construction machinery would now be removed from the premises, indicating a transition to the final stages of construction .
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Remarks
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed joy over the Kalash installation, stating that the Ram Temple’s construction symbolizes not only spiritual devotion but also cultural and social harmony. He emphasized that the temple reflects the collective faith and unwavering resolve of millions, reinforcing India’s Sanatan values on the global stage .
The Chief Minister also reiterated the state’s commitment to transforming Ayodhya into a global spiritual and tourism hub, with ongoing infrastructure projects enhancing road, rail, and air connectivity.
Progress and Future Plans
Nripendra Misra, Chairperson of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, provided updates on the temple’s progress. He mentioned that a four-kilometer security wall would be constructed around the temple complex, with Engineers India Limited undertaking the project. Soil testing will precede the construction, and the wall’s design, height, and thickness have been finalized .
Additionally, a passenger facility center’s capacity will be increased, and a storage facility with 62 counters will be constructed on a 10-acre area within the temple complex. The green expanse of Kuber Tila and the meditation site will be interconnected, enhancing the overall experience for devotees.
All statues for the Sapta Mandal temples have arrived in Ayodhya and have been placed inside the respective temples. These statues, originating from Jaipur, signify the temple’s readiness for the next phase of consecration.
The installation of the Kalash atop the Ram Temple’s shikhar is a monumental achievement, reflecting the dedication and faith of countless devotees. As the temple nears completion, it stands as a testament to India’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual unity.
