The ceasefire, set to begin on Sunday, January 19, will last for 42 days in its first phase, facilitating the release of hostages and prisoners, and allowing displaced Palestinians to return to their homes.

1. Duration and Start Date
The truce will last for 42 days, starting January 19, 2025.
2. Hostages Release
- Hamas will release 33 hostages, including civilian women, children, elderly, and injured individuals.
- The first group of hostages, including three Israeli women soldiers, will be released by Sunday evening.
3. Prisoner Exchange
- In return, Israel will release 737 Palestinian prisoners, comprising men, women, and children.
- No prisoners will be released before 4 PM (local time) on Sunday.
4. Mediation and Negotiation
The deal was brokered by Qatar and Egypt, with active participation from U.S. officials.
Logistics of Hostage Release and Care
- Three points have been established for the exchange: Kerem Shalom, Erez (border crossings), and Reim (east of Gaza).
- Hostages will undergo medical and mental health evaluations upon release and will be transported to Israeli hospitals via helicopters or vehicles.

- The Israeli military has implemented a revised defensive plan, strengthening security along the Gaza Strip border.

Restrictions on Movement
- Palestinians will not be permitted to return to areas where Israeli forces remain stationed or to regions near the Israel-Gaza border.
- The full withdrawal of Israeli troops is contingent upon the release of all remaining hostages.
